I count carbs, weighing all my food. I keep my carbs under 20 net carbs per day, usually no more than 15 net carbs. I don't consider this counting and weighing of carbs excessive just as I don't consider brushing my teeth twice a day obsessive. They are simply things I do to maintain my health. It seems to be true that not everyone has to keep their carb count this low but many of us do and for those of us who do it is not obsessive; it is healthy behavior.
